Simple Ways to Stop Games Killing Your Battery
Nothing ends a good gaming session faster than a battery warning. After testing dozens of games on the same aging phone, I've collected a handful of tricks that genuinely help, none of which require any special apps.
The biggest win is almost always brightness. Auto-brightness fights you constantly during bright racing games, so I lock it manually a notch below what feels comfortable. Your eyes adjust in a minute and the drain drops noticeably.
Second, dig into the graphics settings. Most games have an effects or quality toggle, and dropping it one level usually costs you nothing you'll notice while playing but keeps the phone cooler. A cool phone is a happy phone.
Finally, headphones over speakers, and airplane mode for offline games. The speaker and radio both sip power constantly. Combine these and a heavy racer that used to die in an hour lasted me nearly two.
