My home screen has a folder with one game from each genre, and it's the most-used folder on my phone. The idea is simple: whatever mood I'm in, there's something that fits.

Tired and just want to switch off? A casual tapper or a cosy sim like Tiny Harbor Town. Feeling sharp and want a challenge? A strategy game where I can actually think between moves. Need a jolt of energy? A quick arcade race.

This is really the strength of mobile as a platform. You'd never carry six consoles around, but six genres live comfortably on one device, each ready in seconds. The trick is not overloading — one solid pick per mood beats twenty half-installed ones.

If you're building your own folder, my suggestion is to be honest about how you actually use your phone. Pick games for the little gaps in your day, not for some ideal version of your free time that never arrives.
